Shiv Puja Kit

Shiv Puja is performed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth. It removes obstacles and negative energies and brings harmony, success, protection, and divine grace into life.

  • Lord Shiva is the Supreme Transformer and the ultimate ascetic deity of the Sanatan tradition. Worshipping Him brings profound inner peace, the destruction of ego and negativity, and immense spiritual liberation. By offering His most beloved, simple sacraments—such as Vibhuti (Sacred Ash), cool Chandan, and Siddhi leaves—devotees cool His intense cosmic energy, inviting absolute calmness, clarity, and unshakeable protection into their lives.
  • Shiv Puja is highly versatile and can be performed daily. However, certain days hold immense astrological and spiritual power for His worship:
  • • Mondays (Somvar): The day strictly dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Moon.
  • • Pradosh Vrat: The highly auspicious twilight period occurring twice a lunar month.
  • • Shravan Maas (Sawan): The holiest month for continuous Shiva worship and Abhishekam.
  • • Maha Shivratri: The grand night of Shiva, perfect for advanced, night-long rituals.
  • • Whenever a devotee seeks profound peace of mind, relief from deep anxiety, or the removal of obstacles.
  • Before You Begin: Choose a clean and peaceful place for the puja. Place the Shiva Lingam or a picture of Lord Shiva on a clean platform.
  • [Note: The Purohit Darpan strictly commands that your lighted lamp (Diya) must always be placed on the right side of the deity: "দীপং দক্ষিণতো দদ্যাৎ". Furthermore, you must NEVER offer Tulsi leaves or Ketaki flowers to Lord Shiva. Instead, devotees are highly encouraged to bring fresh Bel Patra (Bilva leaves) to pair with this kit].
  • Step 1: Prepare the Sacred Space (Dipa & Dhupa)
  • Begin by lighting the Agarbatti (Incense Sticks) to clear the air. Prepare a diya using the Round or Long Cotton Wicks and fill it with the Cow Ghee. Light the diya and place it strictly on the right side of Lord Shiva.
  • Step 2: Sacred Purification
  • Take a few drops of the Ganga Jal and gently sprinkle it over the Shiva Lingam and around your puja space to spiritually purify the environment.
  • Step 3: Ascetic Adornment (Gandha)
  • Lord Shiva is the ultimate ascetic who loves cool, pure offerings. With deep devotion, apply the sacred Vibhuti Bhasma (Sacred Ash), White Chandan Powder, and Ashtagandha Chandan to the Lord.
  • Step 4: The Supreme Offerings (Naivedya)
  • Offer the Akshat Rice, the Pancha Sashya (Five Sacred Grains), and the highly sacred Siddhi Leaves (Dry Bhang Pata) at His base. These simple, earthy sacraments are highly powerful in cooling His intense cosmic energy.
  • (Note for Beginners: The premium spices included in your box—such as the Supari, Clove, Green Cardamom, and Haritaki—are strictly reserved for advanced 16-step rituals performed by a Pandit. You do not need to use them for this simple daily worship!)
  • Step 5: Perform Aarti & Conclude
  • Place a small piece of the highly Sattvic Natural & Pure Camphor (Kapoor) in a fire-safe holder and light it. Perform a gentle Aarti in clockwise circular motions while chanting: “Om Namah Shivaya” Conclude your worship by bowing respectfully. Sit peacefully for a few moments to absorb the profound, calming energy of Mahadev before continuing with your. day.

Before You Begin: Choose a clean, peaceful, and spiritually uplifting place for the puja. Place the Shiva Lingam or picture of Lord Shiva on a clean platform or Puja Place. Sit comfortably alongside your qualified priest (Purohit). Light the Agarbatti (Premium Incense Sticks) to sanctify the atmosphere.

[Note: Devotees are highly encouraged to bring fresh Bel Patra (Bilva leaves) to complete His worship. Please remember two highly strict orthodox rules: First, you must NEVER offer Tulsi leaves or Ketaki flowers to Lord Shiva. Second, the orthodox manual Purohit Darpan strictly commands that the lighted lamp must always be placed on the right side of the deity: "দীপং দক্ষিণতো দদ্যাৎ"].

Step 1: Advanced Breath Control & Purification

Before touching the sacred Puja Place, the priest will guide you through complex breath control (Pranayama) to discipline the mind. The priest will then perform highly advanced elemental purification (Bhuta-shuddhi) to completely cleanse the physical and spiritual environment.

Step 2: Installation of Divine Energies (Nyasa)

The priest will perform Nyasa, an advanced Tantric and Vedic practice involving the installation of divine energies into specific body parts using powerful Sanskrit syllables. This transforms the worshipper's body into a pure vessel fit to receive Mahadev.

Step 3: Intricate Hand Gestures (Mudras)

Throughout the purification of the Ganga Jal and the sacred offerings, ensure your priest utilizes intricate, traditional hand gestures (Mudras), such as the Dhenu (cow), Matsya (fish), and Ankusha mudras, to properly channel and seal the divine energy.

Step 4: The Sacred Holy Bath (Abhishekam)

To invoke Lord Shiva, the priest will recite rigorous, traditional Sanskrit mantras (such as the Rudra Suktam). Under the precise chanting of the priest, respectfully offer the Ganga Jal to perform a sacred Abhishekam over the Shiva Lingam.

Step 5: Ascetic Adornment (Shringar) & Offerings

Follow the priest's timing to adorn the Lord in His pure, ascetic form. Apply the sacred Vibhuti BhasmaWhite Chandan Powder, and Ashtagandha Chandan Tika. • Offer the Akshat Rice, the Pancha Sashya (Five Sacred Grains), and the highly authentic Siddhi Leaves (Dry Bhang Pata) at His base to cool His intense cosmic energy.

[Note: The priest will now chant the specific Shaiva mantras to offer the fresh Bel Patra you have brought. Ensure absolutely no Tulsi or Ketaki flowers are offered during this step].

Step 6: The Sacred Meal (Madhuparka)

Following the advanced 16-step (Shodashopachar) sequence, offer the Honey and pure Cow Ghee as a deeply Sattvic, sweet offering (Madhuparka) to the Lord.

Step 7: The Royal Spices (Tambula)

To sweeten the deity's mouth immediately after the divine meal, the priest must offer the complete Tambula to fulfill the highest standard of 16-step royal hospitality. Present the premium SupariCloveGreen Cardamom, and Haritaki near the deity.

Step 8: Light Kapoor & Perform Aarti

Place the Long or Round Cotton Wicks in a diya and light it using the Cow Ghee. Light the highly Sattvic Natural & Pure Camphor (Kapoor) and perform the Aarti in clockwise circular motions while the priest chants the concluding hymns of profound peace and liberation.

Step 9: Conclude with Devotion (Pranama)

Conclude your worship by performing a physical prostration (Pranama). Receive the priest's scriptural blessings, and sit peacefully for a few moments, absorbing the profound, calming spiritual energies that the priest's advanced rituals have established in your mind and home.

• Destroys Negativity: Lord Shiva's energy instantly burns away fear, anxiety, and household obstacles.

• Mental Stability: Worshipping the Lord of the Moon (Somnath) with cool items like Chandan and Ganga Jal brings profound emotional balance.

• Spiritual Growth: Regular worship purifies the soul, accelerating one's journey toward self-realization and liberation (Moksha).

  • The MySanatan Shiv Puja Kit features 100% authentic, naturally sourced ingredients, including genuine Siddhi Leaves (Bhang), which have been utilized by Himalayan ascetics for millennia to worship Mahadev. All items are strictly curated to align with Sattvic (pure) Shaiva traditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q1. Can I offer Tulsi leaves with this kit?
  • No! According to strict scriptural rules, Tulsi leaves and Ketaki flowers must never be offered to Lord Shiva. Instead, we highly encourage you to bring fresh Bel Patra (Bilva leaves) to pair with the offerings in this kit.
  • Q2. Why are Siddhi Leaves (Bhang) included in the box?
  • Lord Shiva is the ultimate yogi and ascetic. Siddhi leaves (Bhang) are traditionally considered one of His absolute favorite offerings, symbolizing the surrender of all intoxications and worldly attachments at His feet.
  • Q3. Do I need to use the heavy spices (Supari, Clove, Haritaki) for my daily Monday fasts?
  • No. This is a "Dual-Purpose" kit. If you are doing a simple daily or Monday worship without a priest, you can skip these heavy spices. They are included specifically so that if you hire a Pandit for a major ritual (like Mahashivratri), the priest will have the exact authentic Tambula required for a 16-step royal worship!
  • Q4. Where should I place the Diya?
  • The highly respected orthodox ritual manual, Purohit Darpan, explicitly commands that the lighted lamp must always be placed on the right side of the deity ("দীপং দক্ষিণতো দদ্যাৎ")
