Puja Arati Kit

Puja Aarti is performed to express devotion and gratitude to the Divine and to remove negative energies from the surroundings. It brings peace, positivity, spiritual harmony, and divine blessings into life.

  • Aarti (Aratrikam) is the magnificent, energetic climax of all Sanatan worship. It is the ritual of waving sacred light, purifying smoke, and offering royal honors to the deity. Symbolically, lighting the Kapoor (which leaves no ash behind) represents the burning away of the devotee's ego in the fire of true knowledge. Waving the Chawar (Fly Whisk) treats the deity as the Supreme Sovereign of the Universe, offering them the highest form of royal hospitality while clearing the atmosphere of all physical and spiritual impurities.
  • Aarti is traditionally performed to conclude any daily or festive worship.
  • • Twice daily during the morning and evening Sandhya (twilight) prayers.
  • • At the grand conclusion of major festivals like Durga Puja (where Dhunachi Aarti is mandatory), Diwali, Navratri, and Mahashivratri.
  • • To inaugurate a new home or business, using the Dhuna and Guggal to clear out heavy stagnant energies.
  • • Whenever the household requires deep energetic cleansing and spiritual upliftment.
  • Step 1: Prepare your Diya using the Mustard Oil and Cotton Wicks, and place it on the right side of the deity. Apply a tilak of Roli Kumkum and Turmeric to the deity.
  •  Step 2: Light a small piece of the Chhobra (Coconut Husk) in a fire-safe vessel (like a Dhunachi). Once it catches an ember, sprinkle the Dhuna Powder and Guggal over it to create thick, fragrant, purifying smoke.
  • Step 3: Light the Agarbatti and the Natural & Pure Camphor.
  • Step 4: Perform the Aarti by waving the Diya and Camphor in gentle, clockwise circles while singing your favorite Aarti song or chanting.
  •  Step 5: Conclude by gently fanning the deity with the Chawar (Chamor) to offer royal respect.

Step 1: The priest will first engage in complex breath control (Pranayama) and elemental purification (Bhuta-shuddhi) to cleanse the spiritual environment.

Step 2: The priest will prepare the heavy Pancha Nirajan (five-fold waving) offerings, igniting the Dhuna,  Guggal, and Camphor.

Step 3 (The Scriptural Aarti Sequence): According to the strict commands of the Purohit Darpan, the priest will perform the Aarti in a highly specific mathematical sequence: He will wave the light 4 times at the deity's feet, 2 times at the navel, 3 times at the face, and 7 times across the entire body ("আদৌ চতুষ্পাদতলেকদেশে দ্বৌ নাভিদেশে মুখমণ্ডলে ত্রীন্। সর্ব্বেষু গাত্রেষু চ সপ্তবারানারাত্রিকং...").

Step 4: The priest will conclude the visual offering by majestically fanning the deity with the Chawar, completing the royal honors (Rajopachar)

  • • Atmospheric Purification: The burning of natural Guggal, Dhuna, and Camphor scientifically and spiritually purifies the air, acting as a natural antibacterial agent.
  • • Removes Negativity: The thick, fragrant smoke forcefully drives away stagnant energy, the evil eye (Nazar), and lethargy from the household.
  • • Emotional Upliftment: The rhythmic motions of the light and the sweet fragrance instantly calm the mind and elevate the spirit, bringing the devotee into a state of deep meditation.

The MySanatan Puja Arati Kit is meticulously sourced to ensure 100% natural, unadulterated ingredients. Please note: The burning of Dhuna and Chhobra creates a substantial, thick smoke that is traditional to Indian temples. Ensure your puja space is well-ventilated, and always use a heat-safe brass or clay vessel (like a Dhunachi) to hold the burning coconut husk and resins.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q1. What is the Chhobra (Dry Coconut Husk) used for?
  • The dry coconut coir serves as the perfect natural ember-maker. You light a piece of it in a fire-safe vessel, and once it is glowing red, you sprinkle the Dhuna and Guggal powders on top of it to generate thick, fragrant temple smoke!
  • Q2. Why is a Chawar (Chamor) included in an Aarti kit?
  • In Sanatan tradition, the deity is treated as a Royal King or Queen. Waving the Chawar (fly whisk) at the end of the Aarti is an ancient gesture of ultimate royal respect and devotion.
  • Q3. Can I use this kit for daily worship?
  • Absolutely. You can use the Mustard Oil, Wicks, and Camphor for your simple, beautiful daily Aarti. The heavy smoke items (Dhuna, Guggal, Chhobra) can be saved for special festive days, Thursdays, or whenever the house needs a deep energetic cleansing!
  • Q4. Does it matter where I place the Aarti Diya before starting?
  • Yes! The highly respected orthodox ritual manual, Purohit Darpan, explicitly commands that the lighted lamp must always be placed on the right side of the deity ("দীপং দক্ষিণতো দদ্যাৎ").
