Radha Ashtami/ Radha Jayanti Puja Kit

Radha Ashtami Puja is performed to receive the divine blessings of Radha Rani for love, devotion, and happiness. It removes negativity and brings peace, prosperity, harmony, and spiritual growth.

  • Radha Ashtami celebrates the divine birth of Goddess Radha, who represents the absolute perfection of pure, unconditional devotion (Bhakti) to the Lord. Worshipping Her intimately at home fills the household with profound peace, spiritual ecstasy, and deep domestic harmony. As the Vedic NityaKarma beautifully reminds the householder, daily and festive devotion is essential for holistic health: "Water purifies the body, truth the mind, knowledge the intellect and penance the soul".

  • This radiant, joy-filled household worship is performed annually on Radha Ashtami (the eighth day of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada). This auspicious day traditionally falls exactly fifteen days after Shree Krishna Janmashtami.

Step 1 - Gandha (Sacred Paste): Lovingly adorn the Goddess with the fragrant Ashtagandha, White Chandan, and Roli Kumkum while chanting: "Om Gandhang Namah".

Step 2 - Pushpa (Flowers): Offer fresh flowers (sourced locally) at Her feet while chanting: "Om Pushpang Baushat".

Step 3 - Dhupa (Incense): Light the Agarbatti and wave the fragrant smoke before Her while chanting: "Om Dhupang Namah".

Step 4 - Deepa (Illumination): Light your lamps using the Cotton Wicks and Cow Ghee while chanting: "Om Deepang Namah".

Step 5 - Naivedya (Food Offering): Offer sweet food, fruits, and the Honey to the Goddess as a gesture of deep devotion while chanting: "Om Naivedyang Nivedayami".

  • Steps 1 & 2 (Asan & Swagat): Offering a beautiful seat and welcoming the Divine Mother.
  • Steps 3, 4 & 5 (Padya, Arghya, Achamaniya): Purifying the deity's feet and hands, and offering sipping water using the Ganga Jal.
  • Step 6 (Madhuparka): Offering the auspicious honey-mixture to sweeten Her arrival.
  • Steps 7, 8 & 9 (Snaniya, Basan, Abharan): Bathing the deity with Rose Water, dressing Her beautifully in the Red Silk Cloth (Churni), and adorning Her with the divine Shringar kit and Khukumoni Sindur (Abharan).
  • Steps 10, 11 & 12 (Gandha, Pushpa, Dhupa): Offering the Ashtagandha, fresh flowers, and lighting the Agarbatti.
  • Steps 13, 14 & 15 (Deepa, Naivedya, Achamaniya): Illuminating the space with lamps, offering a grand feast, and providing water to cleanse the mouth.
  • Step 16 (The Complete Tambula): There is absolutely no 16-step puja where Tambula is not mandatory. The mathematically perfect Tambula (Supari, Clove, Cardamom, Haritaki) must be offered to sweeten the deity's mouth as the 16th and final step.
  • Conclusion (Household Aarti & Purification): The ceremony concludes with a highly fragrant Aarti using the Pure Camphor, and burning the Guggal and Dhuna over the glowing Chhobra (Coconut Husk) to purify the home's atmosphere!

  • Cultivates Unconditional Love & Harmony: Invoking Goddess Radha naturally dissolves household tensions, replacing them with joy, laughter, empathy, and mutual affection between family members.
  • Spiritual and Environmental Purification: Burning the natural resins like Dhuna and Guggal over the Chhobraactively purifies the physical atmosphere of the home, clearing away negative energies and airborne impurities.
  • Cooling Physical Benefits: The application of the White Chandan (Sandalwood) and Ashtagandha to the foreheads of family members as a Tika has immense calming properties, actively reducing body heat and relieving stress.

  • The MySanatan Radha Ashtami Household Puja Kit is a breathtakingly authentic spiritual package designed to bring the true essence of Vrindavan's devotion right into your living room! Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q1: Why does this kit specifically include a "Red Silk Cloth (Churni)" and a full "Shringar kit"? For Beginners & Families: Radha Ashtami is the ultimate celebration of the Divine Mother who embodies supreme, unconditional love (Bhakti). If you are performing the 16-step royal worship (Shodashopachar), the 8th and 9th steps are Basan(Garments) and Abharan (Ornaments). Offering the beautiful Red Silk Churni and the Shringar kit allows you to lovingly dress and adorn the Goddess, transforming a formal ritual into a deeply intimate, joyful act of family devotion!
  • Q2: We are beginners performing the simple 5-step method. Should we place the lighted lamp and incense in any specific direction? For Beginners & Ritual Accuracy: Yes, there is a beautifully specific, easy-to-follow rule for this! According to the classical Purohit Darpan, you should never place them randomly. The lighted lamp (Deepa) must be placed on the right side of the deity (or directly in front), but never on the left. Conversely, the incense (Dhupa) must be placed on the left side of the deity, and never on the right. Following this simple placement rule instantly makes your home altar scripturally perfect!
  • Q3: The kit includes a "White Cotton Janeu Thread" (Sacred Thread). Since this is Goddess Radha's festival, why is a male sacred thread included? For Cultural Enthusiasts & Families: This is a profound theological detail! In the traditional theology of Vrindavan, Goddess Radha is never worshipped in isolation; She is the eternal consort of Lord Krishna, and their worship is performed together for the pleasure of both ("Śrī Rādhā Kṛṣṇa prītikāmaḥ"). The sacred Janeu thread is provided so you can respectfully invest Lord Krishna (or the sacred vase representing the divine presence) during the adornment step, honoring their inseparable cosmic union!
  • Q4: What are the classical rules for using our hands when offering flowers to Goddess Radha? For Experienced Devotees: While beginners might just toss flowers, the Purohit Darpan provides a highly elegant, advanced technique for offering flowers (Pushpa). It strictly instructs the practitioner to offer the flower using only three specific fingers: the thumb (Angustha), the index finger (Tarjani), and the middle finger (Madhyama). Furthermore, a standard flower must be offered facing upward, just as it blossoms in nature. Using this refined hand gesture (Mudra) elevates your household worship to the level of a trained temple priest!
  • Q5: The kit includes "Pancha Ratna" (Five Gems) and "Pancha Sashya" (Five Grains). What is their purpose in a home setup? For Scholars & Household Purifiers: These are vital components for an authentic Eastern Indian Ghat Sthapan (the establishment of the sacred vase)! When the priest or householder establishes the water vase (Kumbha or Ghat), it is not just filled with water. Classical manuals instruct that the sacred grains (Pancha Sashya) are placed at the base, and the Pancha Ratna (Five Gems) are dropped directly into the water. This spiritually transforms a simple pot into a potent energetic center, anchoring cosmic wealth, agricultural abundance, and pure divine energy directly into your living room!
