Navratri Puja Kit

  • Navratri Puja is performed to seek the blessings of Maa Durga for strength, protection, prosperity, and spiritual growth. It removes obstacles and negative energies and brings peace, happiness, success, and divine grace into life.

  • Navaratri is the spectacular nine-night festival dedicated to the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga (Navadurga). It is the ultimate celebration of the victory of cosmic energy (Shakti) over ignorance and evil. Worshipping the Mother Goddess during these nine days brings unshakeable inner strength, absolute protection for the family, and the joyous renewal of prosperity. A central feature of this worship is offering the Goddess her complete Sringar (the beautiful cosmetics and adornments) and highly auspicious botanical elements like Kamal Gatta (Lotus Seeds) and Cowrie Shells, which are magnetic anchors for sovereign wealth and divine grace!

  • Navaratri Puja is performed to celebrate the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga, invite her supreme protection, and awaken unshakeable inner strength. It is suitable for both the grand nine-night festival and special devotional moments dedicated to the Divine Mother.
  • • During the nine days of Sharadiya Navratri (Autumn) or Chaitra Navratri (Spring)
  • • Daily Goddess Durga or Navadurga worship at home
  • • Ashtami (8th day) and Navami (9th day) special observances
  • • Home mandir installation or Devi Ghat Sthapan (sacred pot establishment)
  • • Kanya Pujan (worshipping young girls) and festive gatherings
  • • Spiritual gifting during the Navaratri season
  • • Any moment seeking the Mother Goddess's protection, courage, and divine grace.

  • Step 1 - Gandha (Sacred Paste): Lovingly apply the AshtagandhaTurmeric, and the fragrant Attar to the Goddess's image while chanting: "Om Gandhang Namah".
  • Step 2 - Pushpa (Flowers, Seeds & Sringar): Offer fresh red flowers, the Kamal Gatta, the Cowrie Shells, and the incredibly complete Sringar Set (Bangles, Bindi, Lipstick, Alta, etc.) to reflect her glorious form while chanting: "Om Pushpang Baushat".
  • Step 3 - Dhupa (Incense): Burn the fierce, purifying Dhuna and Guggal over the Chhobra to completely obliterate negative entities from the home while chanting: "Om Dhupang Namah".
  • Step 4 - Deepa (Illumination): Light your lamps using the Cotton Wicks and Cow Ghee to guide the Mother's radiant light into your home while chanting: "Om Deepang Namah".
  • Step 5 - Naivedya (Food Offering): Offer a grand, home-cooked feast alongside the Pancha Sashya as a gesture of deep gratitude while chanting: "Om Naivedyang Nivedayami".

  • Steps 1-5 (Welcome, Boundaries & Purification): The Pandit purifies the home using the Ganga Jal and Kusha Grass. He establishes the sacred altar boundary, formally offering a Seat (Asan), Welcome (Swagat), water for washing feet (Padya), a sacred offering (Arghya), and water for sipping (Achamaniya).
  • Steps 6-9 (Madhuparka, Bath & Royal Adornment): The priest absolutely must offer the 6th-step sweet mixture (Madhuparka) using your included Pure Honey. The Goddess is then bathed, draped in the Red Cheli Cloth(Basan), and majestically adorned with the Shankha Pola and the complete Sringar Set (Abharan).
  • Steps 10-15 (The Grand Offerings): The deity is offered rich fragrances (Gandha), flowers and Kamal Gatta(Pushpa). She is then offered fierce purifying incense (Dhupa), glowing ghee lamps (Deepa), and a grand food offering (Naivedya).
  • Step 16 (The Complete Tambula): According to the strict rules of the Purohit Darpan, a 16-step royal worship is absolutely invalid without Tambula. The Pandit concludes the offerings by presenting the scripturally mandated Supari, Haritaki, Clove, and Cardamom to sweeten the Mother's mouth.

Conclusion (Aarti & Havan): The ceremony concludes with a grand Aarti using the Pure Camphor and the Chawar fan. Finally, a massive fire ritual (Agnihotra) is performed using the Bel KathJoggo Dumur Pata, and Havan Samagri to permanently seal the fierce protection into the home!

  • Awakening Inner Power: Worshipping the Goddess during Navaratri completely revitalizes the mind and body, replacing fear and anxiety with unstoppable courage.
  • Triumph Over Adversity: The divine energy invoked over the nine nights destroys seen and unseen enemies, clearing massive hurdles in your career or personal life.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Q1: Since this is a massive nine-day celebration for Goddess Durga, can I offer her fresh Durva grass from my lawn?
  • For Beginners & Home Ritualists: You must strictly avoid this! The classical scriptures contain incredibly specific rules regarding which leaves are acceptable for which deity. The Purohit Darpan explicitly quotes the ancient rule: "na dūrvayā yajeddurgāṃ", which translates to: "One must never worship Goddess Durga using Durva grass". Instead, you should use the beautiful red flowers and the provided botanical offerings to perfectly honor her!
  • Q2: We are inviting many guests and relatives during the Navaratri evenings. Are there specific rules about eating before we serve them?
  • For Hosts & Families: Absolutely! In the spirit of the Mother Goddess, the host must always serve others first. The Apastamba Sutras strictly warn that a householder "who eats before the guests consumes the food, the prosperity, the children, the cattle, the merit which his family acquired by sacrifices and charitable works". You must always wait until the deities and guests have been fully satisfied before partaking yourself!
  • Q3: The kit includes a magnificent "Sringar Set" with lipstick, nail polish, and bangles. Why do we offer cosmetics to the Goddess?
  • For Devotees: In Shakta traditions, the Divine Mother is celebrated not just as a fierce warrior, but as the ultimate embodiment of cosmic beauty, grace, and sovereignty (Lalita). Offering the 9th-step Abharan (Ornaments and Sringar) satisfies her auspicious, nurturing form. It is believed that by adorning the Goddess, the devotee's own life is adorned with harmony, marital bliss, and radiant health!
  • Q4: During the Navaratri Havan (sacred fire), my wife wants to offer some of the Havan Samagri into the fire herself. Is this allowed?
  • For Experienced Householders: In highly orthodox Vedic fire rites, the rules for pouring oblations are very specific. According to the Apastamba Sutras, while women absolutely share in the spiritual merit of the sacrifice, the text traditionally states: "A female shall not offer any oblation into the fire". The householder (husband) or the officiating priest should physically pour the Samagri while the wife participates through touch (often touching her husband's arm) to complete the energetic circuit!
  • Q5: What is the purpose of the "Kamal Gatta" (Dried Lotus Seeds) in this kit?
  • For Wealth Seekers: Lotus seeds are one of the most powerful, highly guarded secrets in Tantric and Shakta worship! Because the Goddess of Wealth (Lakshmi) is universally associated with the lotus (Kamala), offering Kamal Gatta into the sacred fire or placing them at the Goddess's feet during Navaratri acts as an intense spiritual magnet, actively drawing immense financial prosperity and royal abundance into the household!
